San Shou
Saturday 2:30-3:30 PM (Part 2, 10 weeks) June 2, 2012.
San Shou is a two-person tai chi form that can be practiced
individually or with partner. Master Chu utilized all the moves from
the tai chi form (as well as a few additional moves) when
choreographing this form. By learning and practicing this form,
students can more readily appreciate the meaning of the tai chi
form’s movements. Students also gain experience
interacting with a partner. While the form is a demonstration form
showing the applications of the tai chi form, it is also a transition
form between the solo form and fighting. Part 1 will take 10 weeks and
will be followed by Part 2, which is another 10 weeks. After this
special class of 20 weeks, San Shou will become a regular class in the
weekly schedule.
Pre-requisite: None. (Beginner's may start on Part 1 on June 12).
